Photo Frames and Albums as Classic and Timeless Gifts

What is an ideal wedding gift? Should it be extravagant and classy, or useful and practical?

Aside from deciding what to wear, choosing the perfect present for the bride and groom is a predicament for wedding attendees. Even though it is not a requirement, it is just polite to bring a token when you are invited to attend a wedding celebration. Moreover, it creates a wonderful feeling when you give something unforgettable to the happy couple. What if there is no wedding gift registry, what are you going to buy for the couple?

When selecting the right wedding gift, you may want to consider giving classic but functional gifts, like photo frames and albums. Why are photo frames and albums good wedding gifts?

Classic and functional

Did you notice how much photos are taken during wedding celebrations? Couples want to preserve memories of the most special day of their lives. Someday, when they get old, they want to be reminded of the wonderful feeling of being in love and getting married. Every moment during the celebration is photographed because the couple wants to capture the beautiful memories, the enchanting smiles of the guests, and the delightful feeling of getting married.

With the number of photos to be taken, there might not be enough albums to hold all the pictures! Your gift would definitely serve a remarkable purpose in keeping together the memories of this very special day.

Customizable

Photo frames and albums make great keepsakes especially when personalized. Not only will your gift be treasured; you will also be recalled when the couple browses the photos in it.

There are many options to customize the frames and albums. If you are creative, you can create a collage of their photos, place it in the album or frame, and wrap it with the gift. You can also have the names of the couples engraved on the frame/surface of the album. For a more personal touch, you can even create the frame and album yourself.

If you do not have the time to create one, many suppliers—local or online—specialize on creating personalized frames and albums. Just choose the design that you want and you can have the gift prepared in a day or two.

Timeless and fashionable

Photo frames and albums also never run out of style. In any occasion, where there are photographs, for sure there are frames and albums to display the memories of good times.

As wedding gifts, there are many exciting choices for you to pick, depending on the personalities of the bride and groom, or the architecture of their love nest. Definitely, you can match the kind of photo holders that you will buy with the home of the bride and groom.

There are hand woven picture frames and albums for those who adore crafts and handmade items. If the couple is moving to a new house, a simple black and white (but large) photo frame will be perfect for the wall in their living room. If both are working, you can give them similar photo frames that they can place on their office side tables.

A good wedding gift does not have to be expensive. For sure, they will receive plenty of keepsakes on their special day. What will make your gift stand out from the rest is that it should come from the heart, it is functional, and it will be treasured even after many years.

Decorate Your Car As If It Would Get Married

If renting a luxury vehicle has no room in your wedding budget, you can always work with your own car. Do not worry if your car does not seem to fit the bill. With just a few simple (and practical!) embellishments, you will be able to make a grand statement. To arrive in style, dress up the car in a similar fashion as your ceremony and reception. Think coordinated decors and colors.
Here are some trimming ideas to achieve that cohesive look:

Flowers

  • Incorporating the blooms of your bouquet, ask your florist to prepare a long arrangement that can be draped around the car. Or a centerpiece that may be laid flat on top of the hood.
  • Have mini versions prepared as corsages for the door handles.
  • Create round- or heart-shaped wreaths from the same flowers used to decorate the altar. These can be placed at the center of the car hood or trunk.
  • String together store-bought silk flowers to form garlands. Tied to or tucked under the trunk, these are meant to dangle behind the car. If you prefer fresh blooms, go for those that are not too delicate and can therefore hold up well on a moving vehicle. Examples are roses and carnations. If money is a concern, make plastic or tissue paper pom-poms instead and then tie them together with twine.

Ribbons

Are you worried that purchasing additional flowers will strain your budget? Ribbons are an affordable yet chic alternative. You can mantle them around the car. Or affix them as large bows. Just remember:

  • Sheer organza ribbons are perfect for very formal weddings. Nylon versions lend a more laidback feel.
  • Colorwise, hot pink and other bold hues suit summer weddings. Cream ribbons are ideal for sophisticated celebrations.

Tulle netting

Something as clearly associated with weddings such as tulle netting can also do the trick.

  • Line your car with white tulle and finish it off with flowers and silk ribbon.
  • Go bold by placing a sheet of tulle on top of the vehicle, as if it was wearing a veil. Cap it off with a large-enough tiara.

Balloons & streamers

Tie balloons to the antenna and side mirrors, and streamers (of varying lengths) on the door handles or hubcaps.

Custom add-ons

One of the advantages of decorating your own car is that you can put your personal stamp on it. Here are some ways to do so:

  • Attach fabric or tissue paper banners on the antenna or the side panels. The banners can be decorated with the names or intertwined initials of the bride and groom, plus the wedding date.
  • If you had monograms specially designed for your invitation, incorporate these via window decals. Such static-cling add-ons can be removed easily without any mess or damage. They also work under any kind of weather.
  • Want something more hands-on, literally? Use glass markers to doodle or scribble on the windows. To erase the markings, just wipe off with a damp cloth.

Just remember that the decorations should not obscure the driver’s view. There should be ample room to see in all directions so do not cover the windows and mirrors heavily.

In addition, use non-marking adhesive, suction cups or magnets (available from you local craft supply store) for embellishments that need to be affixed to the car. This way, you will be assured that its surface will not be damaged.

Decorating your wedding car may not be on the top of your to do list. But try to figure it in, as this is one of the elements that can make a great first impression and leave a lasting impact on your wedding day.

How Do I Use Gold and Bronze In Decorating My Wedding?

Question from Andrea:

How do I combine white, gold and bronze as a wedding theme for the decorations and for the table decors?

Answer from Beach Wedding Expert Angela:

Hi Andrea, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding.  There are many ways to decorate using these colours.  Let’s explore your options.

White tablecloths, white napkins, white chair covers creates a classic elegant base from which to decorate.  Now you start to add colour.  Pick one colour–gold or bronze, and dress the table with a table square or runner in that colour.  Your centrepiece will then be the next place you want to add colour.  You can add the same colour, or the other colour you are using.  For example, if you used a bronze lace table square, you might choose a centrepiece of gold foil covered rum balls or chocolate balls, and make a tower of them as a centrepiece, or fill a tall vase with them.  They can then be served to your guests as a sweet throughout the evening.  Or, just fill the tall vase with gold foil covered ping pong balls.  A few taper candles will add sparkle to the centrepiece, and create a warmth to the overall look of your decor.  A wedding party favor in your wedding colours will complete the table.  Have you seen the bronze elegance collection?  It will give you ideas on how to use bronze in your decorations.  These table top accessories might give you some other ideas.

Every room that is decorated needs a focal point.  The most logical focal point is the head table.  You need some height to create a dramatic look.  Your reception site might have some backdrops available or can tell you where to rent them.  There are many types, sizes, and styles.  I like the window style as it allows you to use lighting behind it to create a warm glow at the head of the room.  You can put a few tall flower stands (also available to rent) with flowers in your wedding colours to add interest, if you so desire.

Then there is the head table itself.  Whatever you have chosen for the guest tables, you want to do it grander at the head table.  The table should have table skirting and draping in your wedding colour(s).   Table squares or runners can also be used.  Consider lighting under the table so it echos the glow behind the backdrop.

Everyone thinks that to make the room look elegant they need to buy a lot of stuff to decorate.  Flowers and candles are still classic and beautiful.  Candleabra’s come in many different styles and sizes, and you might want a couple for behind the head table (instead of the flower stands), or you can have table sized ones.

What you really need is a focal point for the guest tables—your centrepiece.  By keeping things simple with white-on-white, any colour you add will create pop and a wow factor.  You need a focal point for the room—your head table.  Lighting is a great way to accent any design or decor element, and ‘uplights’ can be purchased for around $10, and later used in your home to illuminate a dark corner.

You can also create bows in your wedding colours to add to the backs of the chairs.  I have also seen strips of thin, net fabric in the wedding colours wrapped around the chair back, and a bow tied.  Simple and beautiful.

These ideas should make it easy for you to plan the decorations.  The cake table’s focal point is the cake, so a simple tablecloth will suffice.  Your guest book table’s focal point is the guest book and card holder, and a simple runner or table square in your wedding colours will accent it nicely.  If you want to do more, add flowers or candles, or the same centrepiece that you will be using on the guest tables.

Remember whatever decorations go up, must come down, and someone needs to do that.  Sometimes couples will hire a wedding planner for a decorating package only, so they don’t have to deal with it themselves.

Good luck and if you have further questions, feel free to ask.

How to Decorate Your Outdoor Beach Wedding

outdoor beach weddingDecoration is one of the common reasons why many couples choose to have an outdoor beach wedding. For one, decorating a beach wedding is very simple and easy. Walk around the shoreline and you will be able to collect various items that you can use for the decoration. Moreover, beach weddings are always gorgeous. The backdrop of a beautiful seaside coupled with a picturesque sky is stunning enough. Lastly, you do not have to spend a fortune with this kind of wedding because most of the decoration you will use can be found right at the beach.

If you are getting married soon and you have decided to have an outdoor beach wedding, here are some splendid ideas and suggestions that you would find very helpful.

Hues of blue, green, yellow, orange

When planning a wedding decoration, one of the first things you have to do is to determine what colors to use. It is always a good idea to complement the motif color of the wedding. Most beach weddings make use of cool shades of the beach and the sky like blue and green, or the color of the sun such as yellow and orange.

Hawaiian, tropical, or nautical

It is always a smart move to have specific theme for the beach wedding to make it easier for you to plan the decoration. Hawaiian, tropical, and nautical are just some of the beach theme options that you can consider.

If you are going for a Hawaiian theme, you can fill the place with leis and hibiscus flowers. For a tropical theme, you can have coconut husks divided into two and filled with colorful flowers. Oars, compass, and miniature ships are some of the things you can use for your nautical beach wedding.

Seashells, starfish, sand

Along the beach, there is an abundance of things that you can use as little decorative elements for your beach wedding. You just have to keep your eyes peeled! You can make use of seashells, starfish, sand, corals, pebbles, and stones to decorate the place.

Candles, torches, lanterns, lamps

To illuminate the place, you can use candles or lanterns as table centerpieces. You can also hang lamps all around or have tiki torches light up the whole place. This is especially nice if you are going to hold the wedding at night. You will surely have a wedding that has a romantic and inviting atmosphere.

Sand sculpture, floating candles, buckets of flowers and shells

These just few of the many options you have when it comes to table centerpieces. Choose something fun and whimsical if you are a young couple who wants to deviate from the traditional wedding norms. However, if you want the classic look for your beach wedding, pick something that is formal and elegant to place in the center of the tables.

More Tips

  1. Avoid using flowers that can easily wilt.
  2. Put weight on centerpieces to avoid having them topple over.
  3. Place flaming torches away from anything that is flammable.
  4. Cover the reception area with a huge tent or tarp.
  5. Play acoustic, reggae or blues music that are perfect complement for a beach wedding.

Getting married at the beach is one of the most romantic ways to say “I do” and exchange vows with your one true love. Make it more romantic by making sure that the beach venue is decorated in the best way possible.

Tips on Decorating Your Church Wedding

You have dreamed of this moment ever since you were a child. Now that the time has finally come, of course you would want everything to be as perfect as possible. However, it is important to know that having an extraordinary wedding is not that easy, as there is a multitude of things to consider and keep in mind.

One of the foremost things that you have to take care of is the decoration of the venue of ceremony. If you and your spouse have decided to hold the wedding ceremony in a church, then you have to decorate it in such a way that it would have a unique and special touch that is distinct to your wedding. Here are some tips on how to decorate the church for your wedding day.

First Things First

  • Inquire about your options – Before you do any decoration planning, you must first visit the church where you intend to get married and talk to the administrator so you will have an idea on what kinds of decoration are allowed.
  • Take note of important details about the venue – Take photos of the parts of the church and jot down essential information such as dimensions of the venue, number of church pews, size of the altar, and so on. This way, decoration planning would be much easier.

The Drawing Board

  • Set a budget – The budget is always a good place to start with the decoration planning, as some brides have the tendency to be carried way with the expenses. Allocate funds for different aspects of the wedding decoration such as the altar, pews, flowers, and aisle.
  • Decide on a unifying theme – The motif color of your wedding should be the color guide for the decoration. You may use other colors as well but be sure that they complement the motif color. As for the style of the decoration, it is best to follow the architectural style of the church.
  • Find a church decorator – For best results, you may want to consider hiring a church decorator for ideas, suggestions, and advice.

The Actual Process

  • Start with the altar – The altar will be the focal point of the whole ceremony so it is best that you reserve for this part the most elaborate and most gorgeous pieces of decoration. One of the best ways to decorate the altar is to adorn it with fresh flowers and beautiful candles. Of course, be careful not to over-do it because you would not want to get married in a forest of flowers or risk a fire hazard with too many candles.
  • Choose an aisle runner – The aisle runner is another important factor since this is where you would walk down. Aisle runners come in various colors but it is ideal to coordinate the color of the aisle runner to the bridal bouquet or the motif color of the wedding. You and your partner may also choose to have a custom-made aisle runner that bears your initials, your names, or your favorite love phrase. To complete the look, you can sprinkle some flower petals along the runner.
  • Decorate the pews – Make the church pews look gorgeous and elegant with floral bouquets, bows, or tulle.
  • Dress the other areas – For the entryway, some of your options include fresh floral arrangement, a floral wreath decoration (on the door), nice potted plants, pomander balls, tulle, and balloons. Balloons can also be used to fill up the ceiling with colors. This kind of decoration is ideal for churches with high ceilings.
  • Light up the church – As for the lighting, you can use candles to create a romantic glow and dreamy atmosphere. You can also utilize LED lights, which are fantastic to use for illuminating a floral centerpiece.

Creating a memorable church wedding decoration may be challenging and demanding, but once you walk down the aisle and you see the wonderful fruits of your labor, you would know that all your efforts are worth it.

Clever Ways to Decorate Your Beach Wedding

When planning the decoration of a beach wedding, you will not only be concerned with what is beautiful or with what looks good. You will have various other things in mind like the windy condition, heat, sand, and the weather, as all of these factors can have a big impact on how your beach decoration set-up turns out.

Here are some clever ways on how to decorate a beach wedding while keeping in mind the mentioned factors above.

  • Use shells to mark down the aisle on the sand where the bride will walk down to the altar. Add some flowers but be sure to push the stems down on the sand to avoid having them blown away.
  • If the couple chooses to hold the event at night, you can liven up the place with beautiful flaming tiki torches. See to it that these torches are located away from anything that can start a fire. You can also decorate the tables of the guests with lanterns or candles surrounded with little seashells. This is a beautiful and cost-effective way to enlighten up the area.

Continue with the article:

  • Using beach umbrella shades or covering the area with a wedding tent is definitely great idea if there is a possibility of rain during the event. With the ever-changing weather today, you can never be too sure. You surely would not want the guests soaking wet in the middle of the wedding.
  • Hire a sand sculptor to recreate a sculpture of the bride or groom or any memento that relates to their love story. This can serve as the focal point of the whole beach decoration set-up.
  • If it s a bit windy, you can use a huge tarp to block the direction from where the wind is coming. This will ensure that the guests will not have sand on their meals or on their eyes. Of course, you should not just get any tarp you can get your hands on. Make sure you find something that at least complements the color and style of the wedding. If possible, you can have the photo of the couple printed on the tarp so that it will serve double purpose as decoration and as a wind blocker.

  • Driftwoods are nice to place along the perimeters of the reception area. Just place them on the side so nobody will trip over them. Decorate these with shells, starfishes, and sand to create wonderful pieces of art that will wow the guests.
  • Hang anchors, surfboard, or boogie boards on the walls. You can also lean them against the corners.
  • If you are going to use flowers to decorate the event, consult with an expert florist first as there are some flowers that will not be able to stand the extreme heat of the sun.
  • As for the centerpieces, the choices are endless. You can have lantern centerpieces, crystal bowls filled with sand, glass marbles, pearls and shells, floating candles on a wide clear water vase, or a mini sand sculpture.

  • Play some nice beach tunes. Decoration is not all about what the eyes can see but also what the ears hear. Aside from visually appealing design elements, be sure to throw in wonderful beach music to add to the nice ambiance of the place. Play some sunny Caribbean music from the Baha Men, old favorites from Beach Boys, soothing tunes from Café Del Mar, or fun reggae beat from Bob Marley.

Even though there are many factors to consider, decorating a beach wedding is not that difficult. With so many resources available around the beach that you can use as decorative elements, it will not consume much of your time or the couple’s wedding budget.

Beach Wedding Centerpiece Ideas for the Exotic Couple

Many couples want to have a beautiful, exotic, and romantic wedding that they will remember for the rest of their lives. An exotic beach wedding is the perfect theme for this purpose. The tranquil beach scene coupled with the picturesque sky is truly a stunning backdrop for this momentous occasion. Aside from that, a beach wedding theme is also fun, modern, whimsical, and distinctive.

Some couples who want to go an extra mile beyond the usual beach wedding opt to have an exotic beach wedding ceremony. One of the most important touches to this kind of event is of course, the wedding centerpieces, which add beauty and glamor to the ambiance of the wedding reception.

Ideas for Exotic Beach Wedding Centerpieces

  • Rustic beach lanterns placed on top of a clear plate filled with sand, surrounded with shells and flower petals. This is perfect especially if you are going to hold the wedding reception at night. Make sure you choose a low-wattage light bulb that will not strain the eyes of your guests.
  • Candle inside a tall clear glass wrapped with a thin handmade paper. This is a cheaper alternative to the first centerpiece that will give the same effect but for a lesser cost. Do not forget to tie a blue satin ribbon around the glass to add to the visual interest of the centerpiece.
  • Exotic flower arrangements that do not only look gorgeous and spectacular but smell just as wonderful. You can ask your florist to make arrangements of different kinds of exotic flowers such as orchids, bird of paradise, heliconias, protias, hibiscus, and gingers. Add tropical green foliage for a more stunning effect.
  • Bamboo basket filled with sumptuous exotic and wild fruits. Tropical fruits such as mangoes, jackfruit, melon, pineapple, banana, watermelon and orange make a very colorful centerpiece. Do not forget to have someone inform the guests that these fruits are not only meant as a decoration but also as a delicious sweet treat for the guests.
  • Other ideas include sand, shells, starfish, and sprawled over a piece of driftwood, floating candles on a wide clear vase placed on top of a mirror, and sand castles or various kinds of sand sculpture.

More Tips on Exotic Beach Wedding Centerpieces

  • Complement the centerpiece to the overall look of the wedding.
  • The centerpieces should be just the right size, not too large to intimidate the guests or too small to be noticed.
  • Be wary of using live flower blooms under the strong heat of the sun. Ask your florist techniques on how to protect flowers from wilting and drying.
  • Shield candle centerpieces and sand sculptures since the windy condition at the beach can put out the flames and send sand flying around your guests’ tables.

Some people think that wedding centerpieces are just among the other small details in a wedding but what they do not know is that the wrong kind of centerpiece can ruin the beauty of the event. With the creative ideas and practical tips mentioned above, you will surely have beautiful wedding centerpieces to help make this event a memorable one.

Candle Favors Come In Many Design Themes

One of the most popular wedding favors during any season or in any country are candles. These are vastly popular as they are easily accessible, widely varied in design, style and color, suit all four seasons of the year and visually appealing. The increased interest in aromatherapy, and alternative relaxation techniques have also contributed to the popularity of candle keepsakes, especially scented ones. They are also considered romantic gifts during weddings.

- Religious themes. Keepsakes with a theme that is religious often carry crosses on them. Other equally religious signs like the upside down cross or spellings of religious words or name like “Allah” or “Jesus” can also be endeavored.

- Romantic themes. Some candles are designed with romance in mind. These would carry heart shapes on them which are either carved into their waxy surface or imprinted on them. Other romantic designs are candles that are shaped into wedding gowns or have the word “L-O-V-E” spelt out on them. They are also often white, ivory or silver in color or in any one solid color as candles with only one color are deemed more romantic than those that are not.

- Humorous themes. Other candles are meant to put a smile on your face and lighten the occasion. These are normally more brightly colored and the color chosen would be less somber ones like neon green, bright red or multicolored. They would also be made into humorous shapes like the frog prince, ice-cream sundae, coffee cup, teapot or even Cupid.

- Royalty themes. These are candle wedding favors that are shaped to look like carriages, crowns or tiaras. Often, candle favors like these are silver, ivory or richly colored with gold or silver flecks on them to look equally luxurious.

- Zodiac or personality themes. Candle tokens that carry the zodiac or personality themes are often color-coded to showcase the difference between each time of personality or zodiac. A more tranquil and airy personality like Aries, for instance, would most probably be candle favors that are lavender in color and scent. Other ways of color coding your candles to each personality would be to follow the color of each zodiac’s birthstone. Capricorn birthstone – turquoise – for instance, could be the color for the candle favor. These often come as tea light candles which have an appropriate scent.

Candle wedding favors also come in various holders which match their designs:

- Votives are extremely popular as candle favor casings as they match their designs perfectly in both color and design. Votives also help to cut down on the cost of actually ordering your candles in a specific shape – ordering heart-shaped candles, for example, may cost more than having normal round candles in a votive with a heart shape design on its outside. Votives can be made of ceramic or glass (clear or frosted). Frosted glass seems to be more popular as they give the illusion of being more expensive than they really are. For added beauty, these votives can be decorated with colored rhinestones or crystals with some glitter for some shimmer effect.

- Gift box sets are also popular for candle keepsakes that need to be given out in pairs. These box sets can be made into shapes that fit the wedding theme like coffee cups, soap holders, lanterns, bamboo huts or cake stands (with the candle as the cake). Just like the votive, these also cut down on your need to order specially designed candle wedding favors while allowing your guests to keep their box sets for their own candle of preference.

- Conventional candle holders are another way of encasing the candle favors. To enhance their look, the holders can be made of glass or high quality plastic. To fit your wedding theme, you can have these holders molded to specific shapes like teapots, sea shells, sailboats, heart shapes, beach pails, toasting flute or any other object that fits.

The size of candle wedding favors varies from event to event. How big or small the candle table gift is should be determined by its design and intended use. Is it supposed to be a tea light candle or a centerpiece candle? Tea light candles are naturally small and light while centerpiece candles are larger and short. Do remember as well that candle wedding favors, particularly scented ones, also tend to be more decorative than practical items – most are used as air fresheners in bathrooms and wardrobes and almost never lit.

Do Whatever Makes You Happy When Decorating

Depending on where you are getting married, ceremony decorations may be a very important part of your planning. If you are getting married in a church, you may be able to get away with just a few ceremony decorations. However, if you are getting married in your backyard, on the beachfront at your family cottage, or at a local reception hall, you may need to plan and budget for a significant amount of wedding ceremony decorations.

Use your wedding location as a launching point to find decorating ideas. Keep in mind that flowers, aisle runners, chairs, alter décor and more will all vary depending upon where you are exchanging nuptials. If your wedding dress is elaborate and you are getting married in a large cathedral church, you certainly do not want beach themed or comical wedding ceremony decorations.

In such a case, you want to stick with taffeta and tulle bows to decorate the church pews, fancy aisle runners for your flower girl to adorn with fresh or silk rose petals, and large spectacular floral arrangements to showcase the marriage alter. However, only about 1 in 50 brides actually has a full-blown cathedral wedding anymore. If you are in the majority and will be tying the knot somewhere unique, fun or unusual, we have assembled some enjoyable decorating ideas for you.

Fun and Unique Wedding Ceremony Decorating Ideas

No matter what you can imagine, you can make it come true on your wedding day. There are no rules written in stone about how your wedding must look or how you should or should not decorate for your ceremony. If you are mad for the colour magenta, use it… everywhere! If you have always wanted to have an oceanfront wedding where everyone comes in bare feet and beachwear, have it!

If you own an Italian restaurant, what is wrong with wanting guests to throw colored macaroni pasta instead of rice? How fun! Perhaps you work as a marine biologist or a trainer a Sea World – why not have your bridesmaids decked out in mermaid style dresses with starfish jewelry? Maybe Casablanca is your all time favorite movie. Feel free to plan a wonderful, black and white, old style wedding with a candlelight ceremony. A modern way to do this is to use luminaries down either side of the aisle for a soft, wonderful ambiance.

If your dream wedding is on the beach and you live in the middle of Idaho, you can still have a beach themed wedding. Plan your big day in the summer, find a large park, ballpark or vacant lot that you can rent or use and call a company to dump a few tons of beach sand on it. Decorate with lots of brightly coloured flowers like hibiscus, geranium, birds of paradise, and angel trumpets.

Have everyone come casually dressed and sit on beach mats for the ceremony. Add a starfish or tropical breeze wedding cake topper to your pineapple tropics wedding cake, use beach chair shaped place cards if you have arranged seating for the ceremony, and use beach or nautical signs to point everyone from the parking area to the ceremony location. Lovely beach themed paper and stationary would be ideal for casual wedding invitations or for your ceremony program.

Flowers, birds and butterflies also make lovely wedding ceremony themes. You can never go wrong with garlands of roses, an alter arbor overflowing with wisteria, a butterfly embroidered ring bearer pillow and toss garter, or a wonderful cake topper with stylized birds wrapped around the bride and groom. Dress up the church pew bows with large oriental lily blooms for a splash of fresh colour or perhaps choose silk flowers that you can keep forever.

If you are your partner are sports fans, have fun with it. Get married on a golf course with your wedding party dressed up as caddies, exchange vows on the pitcher’s mound at your favourite baseball field or centerfield on the soccer field where you met your spouse to be, or order all of your wedding ceremony decorations in the colours of your beloved basketball team.

Whatever the couple wants should be when it comes to the ceremony décor. Your wedding party should be there to help, offer advice and run errands – but not dictate or decide wedding ceremony decorations. Your parents or in-laws had their own wedding day, and this is yours! Do whatever will make you happy and give you a warm feeling of happiness when you think about your wedding day 25 years from now.

Seaside Ambiance for Thank You Gifts

The beach is always a popular motif for weddings because it is so versatile and almost everyone has at least one good memory associated with the beach along an ocean, lake, pond, or cottage life. As a society, we spend countless hours on the beach playing as children, sunning as teenagers and adults, taking long walks on the beach to find shells and enjoying the rising and setting of the sun from a well-appointed perch or during a morning or evening stroll.

The beach means different things to different people, but there are some common themes. Beaches represent tranquility and consistency. They also are very busy places where people recreate, birds scour for food and water-creatures and fauna live just feet away. Beaches represent cleanliness and a new beginning; with each incoming tide, beaches are swept clean, leaving an interesting deposit of shells and wildlife each morning.

Beaches are also beautiful to look at. The colors that encompass even the most mundane beach are spectacular as are the wildlife. Sea grasses, the color of the water, the sky and the sand all provide an interesting cornucopia of colors that can be incorporated into any beach theme because they merge so great together and match just about any other color scheme.

Beaches also represent life. Even an inland pond beach is bustling with activity. Dragon flies flit from perch to perch, ducks swim offshore, fish jump and frogs, lizards and other wildlife use the beach as a highway, food source and refuge. Ocean beaches can be astounding in the amount of wildlife they support besides humans. Clams burrow into the sand as to some crabs, fish swim offshore sea gulls scavenge and tidal pools support hundreds if not thousands of different life forms.

Incorporating the beach into your wedding is easy and almost always a good match. Beach theme wedding favors are no exception. Because the beach is so diverse, you have an array off article and color options that will fit almost any wedding perfectly.

In terms of the favors themselves, you have a lot of options. The beach is rife with wildlife, shells, sand and rocks and each specimen is likely included in a beach theme wedding favor somewhere.

Ready for purchase are starfish wine stoppers, wooden deck chair candle holders, beach theme wooden trinket boxes and so much more. Miniature folding beach chairs dress up any table and evoke a sense of carefree bliss as do flip flop shaped notepads celebrating the day and the Bride and Groom. Mini Lanterns with Hangers evoke damp, fog-laden nights and foghorns bellowing in the background.

Miniature metal pails remind people of blissful days spent building sand castles. In addition, to set a lighter mood you can select Starfish Shaped Stickers, Beach Towel Stickers or Boat Flag Stickers. Each of these remind people of how fun the beach is and how fun your wedding is because of your good taste in themes.

Like the beach theme wedding favors you choose, you also have lots to pick from in terms of color. Aqua blue is by far the favorite because it is airy and light, but it is by no means your only option. Sea green is very popular as is sea-grass greens and sand. Other popular colors are derived from deep blue skies, the colors of wildlife and the pastels that people paint houses, boardwalks and piers. Since so many colors make up your average beach scene, your choices of colors run the gamut.

Beach theme party favors are a great way to celebrate something almost everyone enjoys in one way, shape or form. Even people who do not like spending a lot of time on the beach usually at least enjoy the wildlife, colors and landscape and just about everyone appreciates the views of the ocean, tranquility of a pond, picturesque beauty of a lake or the power of a river. Beach theme wedding favors can add a light, fun and lively flavor your event and come in so many different shapes, sizes and forms that finding the perfect set of favors is easy.

Creating Your Own Centerpieces Personalizes Your Big Day

Wedding table centerpieces make your special seating area more eye-catching while reflecting the theme of your day. Everyone will be watching the bride and groom so the best ideas are attractive but not overwhelming. After all, the bride and groom are the stars of the day and should be seen without being hidden by an oversized centerpiece.

First, consider the theme of your wedding. Is it elegant, casual, whimsical or child-friendly? This will help you determine the best centerpiece for your bride and groom table so you can match it to your theme. For example, at a sophisticated adult wedding you can use a variety of glass holder with candles in different sizes and mirrors to reflect their glow. At a wedding with children, you can incorporate color and humor into your wedding table centerpieces with a large bowl filled with candies and prizes that is sure to attract your younger guests.

Remember the wedding table will be a place where guests come to talk to the bride and groom and spend some time. It is also a focal point during the toast to the bride and groom so all eyes will be watching your table. Your ideas should suit your type of wedding for a professional, uniform appearance in all the photographs and videos of the event.

Next, determine the size of the table to figure out how many centerpieces you need. The number of items is determined by the amount of people seated with the bride and groom. A long table may need three or four centerpieces for balance, while a smaller table is perfect with just one. Once you know the theme and the number of centerpieces you need, you can choose the most appropriate ideas.

For the bride and groom’s table, a white centerpiece with gold and silver accents suits all types of weddings. If you have a luxury adult wedding, use a variety of candles in different sizes places on mirrors because you don’t have to worry about little hands being attracted to all the flickering light. You can also have a small fountain in the middle of your table for a romantic, calming touch.

At wedding with or without children, flowers make classic wedding table centerpieces. Make sure the flowers are not so tall that they hide the faces of the bride and groom. Choose unique vases and stones to customize your centerpieces. You can even make them yourself with a bit of creativity, using your choice of dried or fresh flowers. At a country theme wedding, you can fill western boot glasses with stones and flowers. For a sophisticated look, fill beautiful glass vases with colorful stones, mystic crystals or even water activated diamond lights for a glow beneath your bouquets. Add glitter on the branches for sparkling appeal.

The flowers you choose depend on the season and the colors worn by the wedding party. Match the flowers to your theme for a uniform appearance throughout your wedding ceremony and reception. Make sure the flowers are not too tall or wide for your wedding table. Also, avoid fragrant flowers that may upset members of the wedding party with allergies or sensitive stomachs during the excitement of your big day.

A fun way to decorate your wedding table is with a heart-shaped fondue set. The bride, groom and wedding party will have a great time gathering around a chocolate fondue and dipping strawberries. The fondue makes a fantastic centerpiece you can take home after the wedding to relive romantic moments with your own private fondue.

Another attractive accent for the wedding table that won’t interfere with viewing the bride and groom are plates spelling “L-O-V-E” filled with goodies such as nuts, mints, candies and fruits. The bride, groom and wedding party can pick on the goodies and the plates are lovely keepsakes after the reception is over.

While you can have a professional make your centerpieces, these ideas can all be easily put together yourself to save money. Creating your own centerpieces also personalizes your big day.

Tropical-inspired nuptials are mostly preferred by adventurous couples or those who would want a casual feel of their wedding. No heavy, sweaty feeling under those ball gowns, no over-decorated halls, no much artificial arrangements, just simple and natural look of the environment, flimsy white dresses and khakis, and outdoor ambience which will surely lighten up this very memorable event.

Apart from the given art of nature which would mostly keep your day in a tropical atmosphere, it’s a must that you incorporate the accessories and the stuff to the theme. The venue mostly chosen for this is in an island setting or some beach side areas. Adorn your setting with brightly colored umbrellas, balls and large pieces of cloths all over. You may want to include a summery dress code for your guests. Some Hawaiian-look is best picked! Also, you can ask your invitees to wear some floral clothes if not whites or khakis.

Of course, the party after the matrimonial rites should be as colorful or as island-y as possible! A lot of island wedding favor ideas are sure to make them keep these items as island treasures!

Take for example the feel of the sunshine. Bring the vibrant sunny day atmosphere with tiny felt bags. Better if you get them in different pastel or candy colors, but the brighter is more recommended! Accentuate it with little flower felt pieces, some ribbons or ornamental butterflies or pieces of artificial flowers (don’t forget to put the stems out!). Aside from bags, you can also make some small throw pillows or toy pillows. Decorate it the same way with the bags.

If you want to take more of the seas, beach accessories are nice suggestions. Purchase some miniatures of those benches or chairs you use during sunbathing. Aside from having it as a souvenir item, you can also use it as place card holders during the reception and it could also serve as a mobile phone holders to your guests! Another beachside item could be some sands and little shells that you can place inside a shot glass. Pour in melted candle gels, when it hardens, it will look like a mini beach diorama…plus, it’s a candle! You can add scents if you want.

For some Aloha! Island escapade, why not welcome your guests with handmade artificial flower-arranged lays or some flowery bracelets and crowns. You might also want to give out some sun visors matching your motif and with printed couple’s name inside the brim. These will not only be a keepsake for those invitees, it will also help the event feel and look more Hawaiian, all the more, your guests will have some free accessories, just in case they fell short of the dress code!

Since the reception is casual, might as well pick up a flip flop design for your favor. You can either get some flip flop slipper keychains or convert it into a mini frame by placing a photo sticker of the two of you in the middle portion of the item, or a little copy of your photos with the corners tacked with very small crafted thumbtacks.

Another island wedding favor you can easily do-it-yourself is a thank you note. Simple as it might seem, it can still take you back to the islands. Roll up your personalized thank you notes and place it inside clear long-necked bottles. Cap it off with bottle stoppers with some decorations and present it as floating decors on artificial or man-made pond!

Sea shells are nice accessories you can share with your guests. Also, some cute little colored artificial gemstones can add up to the beauty and luster of a treasure chest or box. Put that island treasure into life with a mini treasure boxes. Fill them up with small shells and gemstones. Customize the container with engravings of the couple’s names, the date and venue of your wedding day. Or, you can put some candies, potpourri, or some beads and pearl-like objects inside the chests. Pick your own object, it will surely be more pleasing and appreciated when they reflect you on it!

Wedding Reception Centerpieces – Beach Wedding Planning

Welcome to our video series of the top 20 questions brides ask when planning their wedding.  I get a lot of questions about reception table centerpieces.  Everyone wants something different, unique, interesting, or unusual.

Follow along by reading:

Wedding reception table centerpieces usually consist of flowers, candles or light, water, and sand—-by themselves, or in combination with each other.  In addition, the use of food as a centerpiece has become more common over the last ten years.

Flowers are the number one choice of brides when it comes to centerpieces.  They can be small and dainty, or extravagant floral displays with ostrich feathers in trumpet vases.

Candles add atmosphere and ambiance to any dimly lit room.  They are the classic, traditional centrepiece for a dining room, and they are easy on the pocket book.  They can be simple, or dressed up with flowers or placed in elaborate clusters.

Water is an interesting medium for table centerpieces.  I have seen goldfish swimming in glass bowls as a centerpiece.  Very unique and colorful.  Water can be dyed to any color, so imagine a cluster of tall thin vases filled with colored water as a centerpiece.  How about a simple glass bowl with water, floating candles and a few flower heads?  Inexpensive and elegant.

Sand has become more popular, especially as it comes in many colors.  Whether you have sand in a vase, or in a flat tray with tea lights, you can do almost anything with sand. Consider vials of colored sand, and an empty glass container—you can have your guests create the centerpiece through an activity that gets everyone involved.

And then, there is food as a centerpiece.  Consider a tower made out of pieces of fudge which then becomes the dessert.  A beautiful choice for a centerpiece is a tall vase filled with lemons and limes.  A more casual outdoor wedding might have a glass pitcher full of sliced lemons, limes and water, which later becomes lemonade for the guests to drink.

Wedding table centerpieces can be simple, dramatic, or practical—and it depends upon your personal style.  I suggest you pay attention to centerpieces whenever you are at a restaurant, or fancy hotel.  Look through home magazines to see what kind of centerpieces are on tables in the photos.

The purpose of a centerpiece is to be the focal point of the table.  The use of flowers, candles or lights, water, sand and food are the most common ways to achieve this.

Good luck, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

Beach Wedding Decor and the Importance of Color

Welcome to our video series of the top 20 questions brides ask when planning their wedding.  A common question I get is:  How do I put my wedding colors into my wedding decorations?

You can also read the transcript below:

At your wedding ceremony, your wedding colors will be reflected in the bridal party’s clothing, and you really want the main focus to be on the bride and groom.  So, keep the decorations subtle—stick to touches of your colors in the candles or alter flowers, or  through aisle runners or draping of colored mesh along the pews.

At your wedding reception, your colors will mostly come through table linens in your wedding colors.  Table linens include table skirting, tablecloths, and napkins.  Sometimes, table runners or table squares are available, as well as chair covers.  Check with your reception site for what they have available, and what you are able to bring in.

The head table usually has a tablecloth and table skirting, but often tulle or mesh in your wedding colors is draped along the front of the table to give it a more prominent look.  Usually draping is provided by the bride and groom, not the reception site, but check on it’s availability before you buy.

The next most prominent way to bring your wedding colors into the reception site is through flowers and centrepieces.  Depending upon your wedding theme, or décor, you might also choose to add color through balloons, streamers, and similar products, or through props like arches, and canopies.

These are the most common ways to bring your wedding colors into your decorations.  Have fun with it and enjoy!  And if you really don’t think you can create your vision, consider hiring a wedding planner or an interior designer for the day to take care of it for you.

Good luck, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

Beach Wedding Decorations – Wow Factors

Welcome to our video series of the top 20 questions brides ask when planning their wedding.  Our topic today will be Creating the WOW Factor.  I get asked this question a lot.  “How do I create a WOW factor for my wedding?”

Follow along the video with the transcript below:

I guess the best place to start is to figure out what a WOW factor is!  When was the last time you experienced something and said WOW.  That’s a WOW factor, and chances are it was something UNEXPECTED or something OUTSTANDING.

Every WOW factor is either UNEXPECTED or OUTSTANDING in some way.  But when you put UNEXPECTED and OUTSTANDING together, that really creates an extreme WOW factor.

So how do you create a WOW factor for your wedding?  Simple.  Do something UNEXPECTED or do something OUTSTANDING.  Wow factors can be extreme, funny, or subtle, depending on your personality—and it SHOULD reflect your personality as a couple.

Want a WOW factor?  Do something UNEXPECTED at your wedding:  maybe a butterfly release at the end of the ceremony or a special dance at your reception is unexpected.  Maybe the UNEXPECTED is a grand location, or a funny wedding theme.

Or, maybe you want to create your WOW factor by doing something in an OUTSTANDING way.  At a wedding, the OUTSTANDING usually comes in the form of decoration or flowers.  Sometimes OUTSTANDING comes in the form of true hospitality by the hosts of the party, so the guests leave feeling WOW’ed.

Whatever you choose to do to create your WOW factor, just remember:  do something UNEXPECTED or do something OUTSTANDING.  It can be extreme, funny, or subtle—but it should reflect who you are as a couple to your guests.

Your wedding celebration is about sharing who you are with your guests.  Be creative, and have fun with it.  Good luck, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

Wedding Flowers – Planning your Beach Wedding

Welcome to our video series of the top 20 questions brides ask when planning their wedding.  Today’s question from our brides is ‘what flowers should I order? What kinds?  What colors?  What seasons?  HELP!”

Follow the text for the above video:

The first thing you need to do is define your flower needs.  Make a list.

How many boutonnieres and corsages do you need?  The corsages and boutonnieres will be worn by the immediate family—grandparents, parents, and siblings.  These identify the immediate family of the bride and groom for all the guests.  In addition, the groom and groomsmen will need corsages or boutonnieres.  Add them to your flower list.

How many flower bouquets do you need?  The MOH and bridesmaids will carry bouquets, and, of course, so will the bride.  Add them to your list.

What kinds of flower arrangements do you need for your ceremony site?  Usually, brides choose greenery and candles, or flowers for the altar.  The guest book table usually has a flower arrangement.  Add it to your list.

Will your reception site need flowers? And where?  Flowers are usually used to decorate the head table, and they are used as centerpieces for the guest tables.  They are also used to decorate the buffet table, cake table, and the guest book table.  Add these to your flower list.

Once you know your flower needs, that is the time to ask the question:  what flowers should I use? and what colors do they come in?  Your florist is your flower specialist.  Use their expertise.

Go with your list of flower needs to your local florist and tell them you would like a written quote.  Be sure to discuss who will transport and arrange the flowers—not only at the site, but between the ceremony and reception sites.  Make use of the florist’s expertise to help you make your flower decisions.  They know what flowers are in season for your wedding date, what your color choices are, and what will fit into your budget.

Once you decide what flowers you want, make sure to get at least three quotes from different florists to compare both services and price.  You might be surprised at the result!  Good luck, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

Wedding Colors – Planning your Beach Wedding

Welcome to our video series of the top 20 questions brides ask when planning their wedding.  Our topic today will be Wedding Colors.  There are five basic choices.

Text from the video above:

Choice One is Neutral colors.  Neutral colors are: black, brown, and white.  Black means deepest black to pale grey.  Brown means deep, rich brown to palest beige.  White means stark white to soft creamy whites.  So, your neutrals are black, brown and white.

Neutral colors go with any other color, and of course, go with each other.  Think black and white.  Very elegant.  If you want a calm, sophisticated feel to your décor, go with neutrals and the occasional splash of color.  If you want the décor to be lively and fun, go with a stronger use of bold colors.

Let’s start with the color wheel to make things simple. There are many different color wheels with different types of colors—one might be a pastel color wheel, another color wheel might have bright colors, and another might have colors that are muted with a grey undertone.

There is no right or wrong.  Any color wheel that you like will work.  I suggest that you google “images” and type in color wheel to see the many choices you have available to you.

So, how do you choose your wedding colors?  Well.  Pick a starting color—any one.  You can always change your mind and try again until you like the result.

For this video, let’s pick blue to start with, as many grooms choose this colour, which drives most brides crazy!!  So, let’s look at the dark blue options on this color wheel.  This leads us to wedding colour choice # 2.

The rule here is different shades of the same color go together.

So if you have one shade of blue for the bridesmaid dresses, and the reception site has a different shade of blue for the napkins, don’t panic.  All shades of the same color work together.

Choice three has this rule:  colors next to each other on the color wheel go together.

In our example, that means turquoise blue and/ or purple—depending how many colours you want in your color scheme.  In fact, you could choose blue and turquoise blue as your two main colors, and add purple into the flowers for added pop.  Play around.  The rule is that ‘colors next to each other on the color wheel go together’.

Choice Four is “colors opposite each other on the color wheel go together”.

In our example of blue, that means a melon orange.  Your sweetheart wants blue and you want something bright and cheerful?  No problem.  Choose melon with blue accents and he gets blue and you get a nice bold color to make a great statement.  To expand on the color scheme, you can add more shades of melon or more shades of  blue following the rule that ‘shades of the same color work together’.  You can add colors that are next to blue or melon, like a true orange, or a more yellow-orange color, using the rule ‘colors next to each other on the color wheel go together’.  Play around and have fun with the colors.

Choice Five is a little complicated to understand, but it’s easy if you pay close attention.

So, Choice Five is “three colors an equal distance apart on the color wheel”.

Three colors away from blue going clockwise would mean pink, and three colors away from blue going counter-clockwise would be lime green. So.  Lime-green – Blue -Pink.  Classic colors that go well together.

Let’s do another example.  Let’s start at the color yellow.   Three colors to right from yellow  is  orange.  Three colors to the left of yellow is turquoise.  Those are your three colors that go together.

Choose any starting colour, and apply any of these rules and you will have the perfect colour combination.  When choosing your wedding colours, these five choices should serve you well and help you decorate with confidence.  Good luck, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

Beach Wedding Ideas in Case the Exotic isn’t possible

It is difficult to go wrong when you choose the beach as the setting for your wedding, cocktail party or reception. In many places, you still can use a public beach for your event and all you have to do is get a permit. Beaches provide ambiance, elegance and pristine beauty just about wherever they are located.

Most of us think of a beach as bordering an ocean. That, however, ignores the majority of the country that does not have access to the ocean. Beaches in Iowa, Michigan or Ontario, for instance, are much different than beaches you find in Florida, British Columbia or California.

So how can you set come up with beach wedding ideas if the only beach available to you is your local watering hole’s tiny strip of sand. Luckily, any beach setting provides ample environment to make your day very special. With the beach, bigger or brighter does not always equal better.

You also can relay the beach theme to your guests by selectively choosing place cards, favors and table settings that remind people of the beach. Starfish background favor cards in aqua blue will set the theme as will Foot Prints in the sand mini favor gift tags/confetti cards. Another idea that will be well used and put you in the minds of your guests long after the wedding day is the starfish wine stopper, which you can give guests as a favor.

Another idea is to hold your reception outdoors and offer an array of beach related foods. Lobster tails and baked clams is one idea as are offering an array of buffet style salads. You also could offer them beach themed cocktails as well as traditional non alcoholic drinks such as iced tea or lemonade. Remember, if you do opt for messier foods, like clams or lobster, give them a place to change into more casual wear after the ceremony or emphasize in your invitations that more casual wear is preferred due to the beach environment and the reception.

Beach wedding ideas are limitless. Using the sand, sea (or lake, river or pond) and sky as your backdrop will put everyone in a mood that reflects the clean environment and vitality of the outdoors. By using a little creativity and appreciating your natural surroundings, you can make any beach setting perfect and memorable whether your beach is on an ocean or next to a pond.

Beach Wedding Supplies

To that end, you should have at least some favors that commemorate the Bride and Groom, the Date and if possible, the location to give your guests a “keepable keepsake” to remember the event and the momentous commitment both people took.

Seaside Allure Garter SetBecause so many people like to hold onto a memory of the day, your options in shapes, sizes and forms are many as are the colors you have to your avail.

Beach Pillow Favor / Place Card Holders are elegant as are Starfish Favor / Place Cards and Boat Wheel Favor / Place Cards and each says something about one or the other of the marrying party. A ‘Stop! Please Take One’ Favor / Place Card will not only prompt people to stop, it will also prompt them to take a favor / place card and tuck it away for safekeeping. Other options include stickers that commemorate the day that come in a variety of shapes and sizes including shells, beach towels, boat flags and starfish.

Heart Shaped Unity Sand Ceremony SetIn terms of color, aqua blue is always popular, but you can elect to use virtually any color of your choosing. White reverse decorations on the background “jazz-up” the favor / place card and allow you to set a theme if your form is just a rectangle. Remember to use type that fits with the colors you choose and are not hard to read.

By using paper favors / place cards, your guests can keep your day in a safe place without worrying about them breaking. Over the years, they will be reminded of the event and how special it all was. There is nothing so much fun as flipping through an old scrapbook and remembering such a happy day and event.

Beach Theme Party Favors for Your Guests’ Wedding Keepsakes

Small Wooden Starfish Photo FramesEvery wedding has some favors that highlight the interests, personalities or hobbies of the Bride and Groom. While they are great for setting a mood and often provide children with something to play with or hold, they are usually fragile, often functionless and when they break or are destroyed are forgotten. Many people like to hold onto keepsakes that remind them of you and your day, but find it hard to find a safe place for those Metal Boats that held the mints or that Miniature Folding Deck Chair and in these cases; paper favors that fit nicely into scrapbooks or even trinket drawers are perfect.

Announcements, stickers and other paper favors are easy to store and can fit into virtually any keepsake container, book or drawer precisely because they are paper. They can be folded if necessary and usually are flat so storage is simple and easy. Keeping them over the years is also a given because they are so unobtrusive.

Personalized Wedding Cake Toppers – How to Top off with a Touch of Humor

Traditional wedding cake toppers are still a lovely way to top off the day. Modern couples can choose from a bride and groom standing, sitting or driving away to their honeymoon in a convertible. Contemporary couples choose white figurines with roses while whimsical couples prefer a child bride and groom with cherubic expressions. Completely personalized keepsakes for the top of the cake may include a jeweled monogram cake topper or brushed silver monogram cake toppers.

Starfish Cake TopperTo celebrate heritage and family, cake toppers feature ethnic couples from every background including Asian and Celtic Asian, African, Jewish and Indian couples have wedding cake toppers in authentic attire that resemble them.

Fantasy weddings are always popular with luxury limos, flowing gowns and a tall wedding cake. Cinderella brides may prefer to top their cake off with a fairy tale dream castle cake topper to celebrate their union with Prince Charming. A glazed porcelain snowflake cake topper or butterfly with wings in pure white or jewels perfectly top off a cake for a seasonal wedding.

Romantic Wedding Couple Lounging on the Beach FigurineAdd a touch of humor with a funny wedding cake topper. Maybe the bride had to reel the groom in and wants to show it off by holding a fishing rod and hooking the groom. Athletic couples can have a sports theme, such as golf or soccer. Maybe the groom was a geeky guy and wants to pair himself off with a lovely bride. Mix and match wedding toppers make any couple a possibility, no matter how amusing.

Theme weddings are a popular choice for wedding planners because they are simple to coordinate. Western wedding goers will love the bride lassoing the groom on top of the wedding cake. For destination weddings, a barefoot bride and groom at the beach are perfect. Another eye-catching alternative for beach wedding is a starfish on top of the cake.

With so many wedding cake toppers to choose from, the happy couples can choose their favorite statement to top off their big day.
