Types of Wedding Flowers explained by the Expert

The first thing you need to do is define your flower needs. Make a list.

How many boutonnieres and corsages do you need? The corsages and boutonnieres will be worn by the immediate family—grandparents, parents, and siblings. These identify the immediate family of the bride and groom for all the guests. In addition, the groom and groomsmen will need corsages or boutonnieres. Add them to your flower list.

How many flower bouquets do you need? The MOH and bridesmaids will carry bouquets, and, of course, so will the bride. Add them to your list.

What kinds of flower arrangements do you need for your ceremony site? Usually, brides choose greenery and candles, or flowers for the altar. The guest book table usually has a flower arrangement. Add it to your list.

Will your reception site need flowers? And where? Flowers are usually used to decorate the head table, and they are used as centrepieces for the guest tables. They are also used to decorate the buffet table, cake table, and the guest book table. Add these to your flower list.
